Skill Enhancement Scheme

The Skill Enhancement Scheme, under the Goa Start-up Policy 2025, supports eligible start-ups in enhancing the skills of their workforce by providing reimbursement for professional development courses and training in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies. Implemented by the Start-up Information Technology Promotion Cell (SITPC), the scheme aims to strengthen the technical capabilities of start-up teams, encourage continuous upskilling, and foster innovation and competitiveness through training delivered by recognised institutions.

Benefits

  • award-check One-time reimbursement of 50% of the training cost or up to ₹1,00,000 for development courses/trainings in AI and emerging technologies from recognised institutions.

  • award-check Available to up to 30 Startups per financial year.

Eligibility

  • Qualified Startup with at least 50% Goan equity/shareholding since inception.

  • The institution should be recognised by an authorised Government body such as AICTE, UGC, NBA, etc. as may be applicable.

  • Reimbursement is available for employees with at least one year of service with the firm.

  • The expenditure should be paid for digitally

How to Apply?

Obtain prior approval from SITPC before undertaking the development course/training.

Open the UDP portal and navigate to schemes tab.

Select Skill Enhancement Scheme from the list of offline schemes.

Click on the Application Form button to download.

Enter your name, mobile number, email ID and district to show your interest.

Fill out the form and attach the required documents

7

Upon incurring the eligible expenditure, submit the application to the concerned department in the prescribed format.

8

Receive in-principle approval from SITPC for availing the scheme benefits.
